History

The Free Trade Zone Manufacturers’ Association was founded in 1981 approximately 3 years after the first ever largest Free Trade Zone was commissioned in Katunayake, Sri Lanka. Both foreign and local companies have established commercially viable export oriented business in the zone thus taking advantage of incentives, infrastructure and security facilities provided by the Government of Sri Lanka through the Board Of Investment. FTZMA is the core Association or he main trade chamber of foreign direct investors that pioneered activities of the main industrial zone in Katunayake.
